NRP seized a loaded hand gun
A 27 year old Toronto man is facing charges following an investigation into the illegal sale of drugs in St. Catharines.
Niagara Regional Police started their investigation back in April of 2023 and arrested a suspect yesterday in the area of Queenston Street and Welland Avenue.
Detectives also executed a search warrant of the suspects vehicle and seized a loaded handgun, a quantity of fentanyl and cash.
The street value of the drugs was over $42-thousand.
Biniam Habtamu is facing numerous charges including possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of proceeds of a crime over $5-thousand, and possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking.
He's being held in custody for a bail hearing.
