Alek Minassian sentenced to life in prison without parole for 25 years.
Alek Minassian, the man responsible for a deadly van attack in Toronto, has been sentenced to life in prison without a chance for parole for 25 years.
Earlier today, Minassian was also sentenced to 20 years for 15 counts of attempted murder, which will be served simultaneously.
Last year, he was found guilty of 10 counts of first degree murder and 16 counts of attempted murder in connection to the incident.
On April 23rd, 2018, ten people died after Minassian deliberately drove a rented van down a busy sidewalk.
Another woman died three years later due to injuries suffered that day.
Earlier today, victim impact statements were read in court by those affected by the incident.
