Town will update its short-term rental program next month.
The Town of Fort Erie will implement changes to its Short Term Rental Program.
Beginning January 4th, licensing fees for short term rentals (STRs) that have one or two bedrooms will be increased to $750.
For STRs with three bedrooms, the fee will be upped to $1,250.
One bedroom rentals will be able to have up to four people, while six will be allowed in two bedroom STRs.
For rentals with three bedrooms, a maximum of eight people will be allowed.
Any STR that has more than three bedrooms will be allowed to operate, but additional rooms must be closed off with appropraite signage.
Guests will need to leave by 11:00 p.m.
The Town will also increase penalty fines and demerit points for infractions.
