City of St. Catharines recognizes residents for their beautification efforts.
The City of St. Catharines is honouring residents who put the "garden" in Garden City.
The winners of the annual Trillium Awards have been announced.
The awards recognize those who help beautify the community through their gardens and properties.
In each ward, two Beautification Civic Awards were handed out, in addition to the Mayor's Award for best overall property, a Community Choice Award selected by an online vote, and the Green Leader Award.
Bev Wright and Rick Hesp won the Mayor's Award for their Queenston Street property, and the Green Leader Award went to the Fitzgerald Neighbours community group for the pollinator garden at Catherine Street Park.
The Community Choice Award recognized 26 La Salle Dr.
The following properties were recognized with Civic Beatification Awards:
- Grantham Ward - 29 White St. and 29 Strathcona Dr.
- Port Dalhousie Ward - 1 Cheritan Crt. and 9 Mackie St.
- St. George’s Ward - 56 Garnet St. and 39 Linden St.
- St. Patrick’s Ward - 134 Dufferin St. East and 24 Queen Mary Dr.
- St. Andrew’s Ward - 14 Dexter St. and 3 East Hampton Rd.
- Merritton Ward - 43 Via Del Monte and 19 Woodcrest Dr.
