Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut is one step closer to obtaining five beluga's from Marineland.
The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has approved an import permit but the deal still needs the green light from Canada.
Marineland has obtained one permit from the Canadian government so far, but the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans still needs to sign off on a second permit before the transfer can happen.
If Ottawa gives the go-ahead Mystic also won't be able to breed the whales while they're in their care.
