Directive included in memo from Education Ministry
CTV and the Toronto Star both reporting any teachers who choose not to get vaccinated or who have a medical exemption will have to undergo rapid testing at least twice a week.
In a memo obtained by the media outlets, Deputy Education Minister Nancy Naylor says it is an added measure to protect schools from the risk of COVID-19.
However for the first two weeks of school, unvaccinated teachers will have to go to local pharmacies to get tested until schools receive rapid antigen testing kits from the province.
According to the memo, the province is also working on a smartphone app to allow teachers to quickly upload test results to school boards.
