Baldwin is starring in and producing a Western movie, Rust
Actor Alec Baldwin has released a statement after a fatal incident with a prop gun on the set of the movie "Rust" resulted in the death of a woman yesterday.
Forty-two year old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed when the actor discharged the prop.
In a Tweet, he expressed his condolences to the woman's family.

There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I'm fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and

The incident, which also injured director Joel Souza, occurred on the outskirts of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Hutchins was airlifted to hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Souza was taken to hospital as well and there are reports he has been released.
Detectives continue to investigate exactly what kind of projectile was discharged from the prop gun.
