Town of Pelham Mayor Marvin Junkin wants to take down the American Flag at the hockey rink.
At Wednesday's Council meeting, he put forth a notice of motion. "It is moved that the American flag be removed from the Meridian Community Centre, forthwith, in symbolic protest of US trade policy and US trade actions."
The motion also suggests returning the flag once an effective trade deal is reached between the 2 countries.
Councillor John Wink wanted to wait until a future meeting. "Where we have full council, as we have 2 councillors missing at this time. I think this is an important discussion to be made with the entire council."
It'll be debated at the October 7th meeting.
