With about a year and a half left of his term, a Welland City councilor has resigned.
Lucas Spinosa made the announcement on Tuesday, citing vandalism, threats and harassment.
The 26 year old owner of The Black Sheep on Niagara says there have been numerous physical threats against him, his family and his staff, as well as online threats and attempted break-ins to his business.
Spinosa says it started about a year and a half ago when council decided against an emergency shelter project at the Welland Tennis Club.
He had a year and a half left on his term.
