Welland Walking Trails Spruced Up

City of Welland and federal government coming together for over $2-million investment

Over $2-million has been spent to upgrade walking trails in Welland.

St. Catharines MP Chris Bittle, representing the federal government's contribution of over $1-million, joined Mayor Frank Campion, representing the city's roughly $1.3-million, for the recognition.

Mayor Campion says it's to support activity, health and well-being of people.

The money used for new benches, accessibility features, and planting more trees and shrubs, while maintaining and respecting natural areas.

The city says once done, it'll add about 4.5kms of trail, connecting Hilda Street to the canal trail, and link North Welland to Niagara College.
