Victim sustained minor injuries.
Police are on the hunt for a suspect wanted in connection to an assault in St. Catharines.
Around 6:00 p.m. on July 22nd, Niagara Regional Police responded to an assault that just occurred at Malcolmson Eco Park on Lakeshore Road near Niagara Street.
Officers say a woman in her 40s was walking on a trail when she was approached by an unknown man.
The man made religious utterances and threatened the victim before pushing her into the ground.
The victim, who sustained minor injuries, ran into the bushes, and the suspect fled on foot into the trails and other areas of the bush.
Officers attended the scene, but were unable to find the suspect.
The suspect is described as:
- Latino male 35-40 yrs.
- 5’3 ft. tall, 175lbs.
- Brown hair short on the sides long on the top brown hair
- Definitive cheek bones
- Dark green, brown colour khaki shorts
- Short sleeve dress shirt with green pin stripe
- Backpack
