Devan Selvey was stabbed in front of his mother
The teen who admitted to stabbing a 14 year old Devan Selvey outside their Hamilton high school in 2019 will be sentenced today.
The teen was 14 when he stabbed and killed Devan outside Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in front of Devan's mother.
In November, the teen, who is now 16, plead guilty to a charge of second degree murder.
Following Devan’s tragic death his mother revealed he had been the victim of bullying and accused the school of doing nothing to protect her son.
That prompted the Hamilton District School Board to begin an investigation into bullying at its schools and to make recommendations to prevent another tragedy.
