1 Man shot dead, 2 suspects on the loose

Shooting took place at a Thorold Stone Rd. residence just before 9pm Thursday

 

On Thursday, July 16, 2026, at approximately 8:50 PM, the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a residence on Thorold Stone Road near Dorchester Road in the City of Niagara Falls for a male who had been shot.

Investigating officers initially determined that two suspects attended the residence and shot the victim with a handgun. The victim was transported to hospital by Niagara Emergency Medical Services but sadly succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1: Male, 25-35 years old, 5’6”, skinny build, dark skin. Wearing a white t-shirt, dark pants and shoes, sunglasses, red bandana.

Suspect #2: Female,18-25 years old, dark brown hair, brown eyes. Wearing baggy blue sweatpants, grey hooded sweatshirt, white shoes.

The suspects parked nearby and fled the scene in a newer model white Nissan SUV, possibly similar to a Rogue.

The Homicide Unit has taken carriage of the investigation. The incident is believed to be targeted however members of the public should exercise caution as the suspects and firearm are still outstanding. Detectives are requesting businesses in the area of Thorold Stone Road and Dorchester Road review any video surveillance footage and contact police if the suspect or suspect vehicle is observed.

The Niagara Regional Police Service is urging the suspects to speak with a lawyer and turn themselves in. The investigation is in it’s preliminary stages and more information will be made available as it becomes known.
