A drop in new local COVID-19 cases from yesterday.
Niagara Region Public Health has announced 19 new infections today, down from 44 new cases yesterday.
Two people remain in local hospitals with the virus, and one of them is in the ICU.
There are 199 active cases in Niagara, with the highest numbers coming from St. Catharines, Fort Erie and Niagara Falls.
At the moment, there are 14 active outbreaks.
More than 732,000 doses have been administered to Niagara residents.
Around 77.2 percent of the area's population has their first dose, and 74.2 percent are fully immunized.
