Update: Taxi driver stabbed on canal parkway, one suspect released

A taxi driver has suffered non life threatening injuries after he was stabbed on the Welland Canal Parkway.
Police say they were called overnight to the St. Catharines hospital emergency room, to learn the driver had been stabbed by a fare.
Police soon arrested two suspects, and found a weapon at the scene, south of Glendale Avenue.
29-year old Daniel Ibarra Vargas of Thorold is charged with aggravated assault and making threats, he has a bail hearing today.
Police add the other suspect was let go, without conditions.
Police have released the scene, adding they don't believe there's any risk to public safety.
