Public Health says a third person in the 20-39 age group has died of COVID-19 in Niagara.
Niagara Public Health is reporting 29 new COVID-19 infections and one more death today.
Officials say the person who died is in the 20-39 age group, and the death toll is now at 440.
There are 11 Niagara Health patients with the virus, and three are in ICUs.
Five of the patients are unvaccinated, one has one dose, and the remaining five are fully immunized.
Throughout Niagara, there are eight active outbreaks and 190 active cases, with the highest numbers coming from St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland.
Over 756,000 vaccinations have been administered to date.
About 78.4 percent of local residents have one dose and 75.6 percent have two.
