An Alert Ready test will be taking place in Ontario at 12:55 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
ONTARIO - If you hear an alert at 12:55 p.m. today, don't panic.
Officials will be testing the Alert Ready system today and that's when the test is scheduled to take place across Ontario.
The Alert Ready System sends a notification to televisions, radios, and cellphones with an LTE connection in order to notify the public about an emergency in their area. This includes tornados, severe thunderstorms, flash floods, and Amber Alerts.
You can find more information about the Alert Ready system online here.
Hey Canada! Mark your calendars for Nov. 15 – we'll be conducting tests across most provinces & territories to ensure our system’s readiness in the case of an emergency.
