People in Niagara and across Canada need to be careful not to crash the system.
Applications open for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit today.
The program will help people in the Region who have lost their jobs or need to stay home with their kids because of COVID-19.
The CERB will replace employment insurance for those not eligible for traditional benefits.
The taxable benefit will give people about $2,000 a month.
But, you are being asked to apply for the benefit based on your birth month, so the system doesn’t crash.
Today, applications are open to people born between January and March.
