Only 35 percent of Ontarians have registered their consent to donate
The Niagara Health system points out, 1,600 people are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant today in Ontario, and every three days someone will die because they did not get their transplant in time.
Niagara Health, in partnership with Trillium Gift of Life Network, is encouraging residents to register as organ and tissue donors to give hope to those waiting.
Officials pointing out more than 90 per cent of Ontarians are in favour of organ donation; however, only 35 per cent have registered their consent to donate.
