Police say a 16-year old Ajax boy was hurt in the St. Catharines shooting on April 27th, 2 young men have been arrested
Significant progress made by police as they look into that April shooting at a St. Catharines nightclub that left a 16-year old Ajax boy hurt.
On Wednesday, May 7th, police searched two homes in St. Catharines, and arrested 21-year old LeBron Samuels of St. Catharines.
Police say he had a gun and ammunition, and faces 6 weapon related charges:
- Possession of a loaded firearm
- Possession of a firearm without holding a licence
- Possession of a restricted/ prohibited firearm
- Carry concealed weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Careless use/storage of firearm
He was also charged in relation to the shooting:
- Aggravated assault
- Discharge firearm with intent
- Possession of a loaded firearm
- Possession of a firearm without holding a licence
- Careless use of firearm
- Carry concealed weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Assault
- Fail to comply with probation
Police also say yesterday they searched a Barrie home, and arrested 18-year old Taeshawn Joseph of St. Catharines, laying eight charges:
- Aggravated assault
- Discharge firearm with intent
- Possession of a loaded firearm
- Possession of a firearm without holding a licence
- Careless use of firearm
- Carry concealed weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Assault
Samuels had a bail hearing on May 8th, but remains in custody, while Joseph has a bail hearing today.
