The federal government says it will clear up the confusion
This comes after the industry has complained that Canadian customs officers don't seem to have clear instructions on how to deal with automotive employees moving between facilities on both sides of the border.
Industry officials say some of their workers have been forced to quarantine when they return to Canada.
And they say with the competition for electric vehicle contracts heating up, it's imperative their technical staff and executives are allowed to cross the border.
