About those wooly mittens Senator Bernie Sanders wore to the inauguration, sparking endless memes across social media?
They've helped to raise $1.8 million in the last five days for charitable organizations in Sanders' home state of Vermont.
The sum comes from the sale of merchandise with the January 20th image of him sitting with his arms and legs crossed, clad in his brown parka and recycled wool mittens.
One fan, Tobey King in Texas, turned the sensational snapshot into a nine-inch crochet doll, which sold for 20-thousand-300 dollars on an e-Bay auction.
The 46-year-old King said she will donate the money to Meals on Wheels America.
