Body Found in Vehicle at the Bottom of the Niagara Gorge

One person is dead after a vehicle entered the Niagara Gorge.

Emergency services were called to the Niagara River Parkway, just north of the Niagara Floral Clock in Niagara-on-the-Lake late Saturday morning.

They found the vehicle heavily damaged close to the bottom.

After repelling into the gorge, they also located a body inside the vehicle.

The identity of the body has not been released at this time.

The NRP is investigating the matter and anyone with information should call 905-688-4111 with extension 2200.
