A Brampton man has received a ten and a half year sentence for his role in a 2017 shooting outside a Thorold night club that injured five people.
31-year-old Jermaine Chapman, who pleaded guilty to eight charges including five counts of aggravated assault, was given credit for time served in pretrial custody the equivalent of 5.6 years, which reduced the sentence to 3.5 years.
Shortly before 4 a.m. on Sept. 3, 2017, court was told, people were leaving the L8 nightclub on Lundy’s Lane in Thorold when shots rang out.
More than 20 bullets were fired from a car toward the crowd and five people, three patrons and two employees were shot.
One patron sustained injuries to his arm, multiple broken ribs and a punctured lung.
