A Brock University research team will receive a $200,000 grant in order to study COVID-19.
The money will purchase high molecular and cellular restoration equipment so researchers can assess how human cells respond to the infection.
They're also going to look into a possible therapy for the virus using a molecule called peptide, which could be used to reduce the replication of the SARS-CoV-1 virus.
The project is being led by immunologist Adam MacNeil and entomologist Fiona Hunter.
The grant is coming from the Canada Foundation for Innovation.
