West Lincoln Mayor David Bylsma is facing the music for attending an anti-mask protest this weekend.
Council has removed him from the town's Emergency Operations Centre, replacing him with Ward 3 councilor Cheryl Gannan.
Bylsma was one of about 1,000 demonstrators participating in an anti-mask protest in St. Catharines on Saturday.
He showed up without a mask and addressed the crowd, speaking against public health measures to control the spread of COVID-19.
Yesterday, Niagara Regional Chair Jim Bradley criticized the mayor for his actions, saying he was "deeply troubled" about his participation.
