Canada To End COVID-19 Border And Quarantine Restrictions

Feds confirm move and also drop masking requirements on trains and planes

The Federal Government has announced it's dropping all COVID-19 measures at borders on Saturday, meaning travelers will no longer need to provide proof of vaccination when entering Canada or wear masks on planes and trains.

As of October 1st, travelers, regardless of citizenship will no longer have to use the ArriveCAN app, provide proof of vaccination, undergo any COVID-19 testing or wear masks on planes and trains.

COVID-19 related quarantine or isolation or any need to monitor for symptoms upon arriving to Canada is also finished.

Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos says the move is not a sign the pandemic is ending, but rather that government data has found the new variants were no longer having an effect on the evolution of the virus in the country.
