Britton won't reveal vaccine status, Siscoe will
Two St. Catharines mayoral candidates have opposing views when it comes to COVID-19 vaccines.
Mat Siscoe tells the Standard with four doses of vaccine, he is able to talk to anyone at anytime, adding public service requires sacrifice, in order to serve all constituents. He says the science is clear vaccines prevent the disease from spreading.
However, Mike Britton has not revealed his vaccine status, a stance that's kept him from being in regional council meetings, instead taking part via video.
It's policy that anyone in the chambers must be vaccinated.
He says the issue has divided society, and by revealing his status, that might cause some people to feel they can't talk to him.
