Catholic Board Trustee Taking Extended Leave

A Niagara Catholic School Board trustee is taking an extended leave of absence from her duties.

The NCSB confirming in an email today that trustee Natalia Benoit asked to be excused from attending regular meetings until January 29th of 2024.

Benoit made headlines last May after making a comment in a video about not wanting the Catholic board to fly the Pride flag.

Her comments in a YouTube video compared the Pride flag to the Nazi flag.

She will continue to be entitled to all privileges as a trustee, including receiving information and her honorarium.
