Sixth annual event taking place September 9th -11th.
The Celebration of Nations Indigenous Arts Gathering is taking place this weekend.
From Friday until Sunday, the event will return to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre for its sixth year.
Artistic Director Michele-Elise Burnett says the Honouring Our Matriarchs theme was chosen to celebrate the wisdom and beauty of Indigenous matriarchs.
"It's really to lift and support and hold space for the wonderful women in our lives, from Mother Earth to Grandmother Moon but also to our ancestors, to the future generations," she says.
Highlights of the event will include a performance by Buffy-Sainte Marie on Saturday night, as well as the First Ladies of Jazz concert on Friday.
Other features include film screenings, creative workshops and the Red Dress Exhibit.
More information on this weekend's festivities can be found here.
