City receiving funds for hosting Fallsview Casino and Casino Niagara
The City of Niagara Falls is getting some money from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
The OLG is giving the city a third quarter payment of over $4.4 million for hosting Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino Resort.
So far during the OLG's fiscal year (April 1st, 2022 to March 31st, 2023), Niagara Falls has received over $15.9 million.
Payments are made to host communities using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
"Payments through OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement provide host gaming communities with the support they need to fund programs and critical infrastructure to improve the lives of residents and families," said Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance. "With these revenues, municipalities are able to build better communities with more opportunities to live and work."
Since December 1996, Niagara Falls has received over $190 million.
