The City of Port Colborne has received reports of a potential phone scam.
Residents claim to have received suspicious phone calls with the caller ID listed as "City of Port Colborne."
The City is reminding you that they don't send out automated messages, and will never ask for personal financial details on the phone.
They also don't accept gift cards as payment for services.
If you receive such a call, you're advised to hang up.
Anyone who has experienced a financial loss as a result of such a call is encouraged to contact Niagara Regional Police.
