City says residents have complained about phone calls from people pretending to be contractors

The City of St. Catharines is warning residents about a new scam.

The City says residents have received calls from people pretending to be a city contractor.

The fraudster claims they're visiting homes to check on water heaters.

The City says calls like this are a scam, and shouldn't be trusted.
