Property burned down on July 12th.
St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik says cleanup of the former "Welland House Hotel" will begin this week after the property was devastated by a fire in July.
Sendzik says the owners have confirmed demolition company Starnino will begin removing debris this week.
He also adds that it will take longer to sort and document materials, as it is a heritage site.
The property, which was a city landmark for 165 years, was burned down on July 12.
The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
