NRP, OPP and MTO team up in West Niagara
Police say after receiving complaints from the public about the increased commercial vehicle traffic in Lincoln and West Lincoln, they focused on big rigs believed to be intentionally bypassing the truck inspection station.
Vehicles stopped were then sent for an in-depth mechanical review.
In total, 58 commercial motor vehicles were stopped on rural roads and 29 were directed to the Vineland Truck Inspection Station.
Eight charges were laid, 6 warnings were issued, and one licence plate was seized.
