The Niagara Community Room is free, donations accepted for hospital
There's a new, free community room in Welland, opened yesterday, available for groups to meet, network, and strategize.
Nathaniel Metheral is the Communications Lead for the Niagara Community Room on East Main Street, and says real estate agent Cam Wilson had the space available, and didn't want to see it not used.
He adds the room is insured, and ready for use. "I'm sure there's lots of business owners, or even real estate owners who have buildings and don't have anyone in them, and rather see the buildings fall into disrepair, or not have any use, why not open this up?"
This is done in partnership with Niagara Health Foundation, with all donations going to buy health care equipment. "If you want to go and have a quilting night, or have a games night, or meet with a group like Alcoholics Anonymous, or information session for anything, it's a space that people from the community are welcome to use."
Considering the amount of empty office space everywhere, he's expecting this to grow substantially.
