A Go Fund Me campaign has been set up to assist a local teenager who is about to get a kidney transplant.
Fourteen year old Abbi Monaghan of St. Catharines was diagnosed with cystinosis when she was 18 months old.
It's a rare, incurable disease that causes significant damage to the kidney, liver, eyes, muscles and the brain.
Abbi, who takes 45 daily doses of medication, will be receiving her transplant at Toronto Sick Kids Hospital.
The teenager will be in recovery for six months, and her mother will be taking time off from her job at Pathstone to be with her daughter.

Additionally, Pathstone staff can also purchase $5.00 sunglasses to support the teen's family.
