COVID-19 Outbreak in St. Catharines Hospital Called Off

Niagara Health has called off one of the COVID-19 outbreaks at the St. Catharines hospital.

The Infection Prevention and Control Team monitored all patients and staff on inpatient unit 3-A over the past 14-days, after a healthcare worker tested positive.

It found no new cases of the virus and no evidence of further transmission.

Derek McNally says this is good news, adding Niagara Health will maintain the best infection control practices to keep patients, staff and physicians safe.

McNally is Niagara Health’s Executive Vice President of Clinical Services and the Chief Nursing Executive.
