One person had to be taken to hospital for smoke inhalation after an apartment building went up in flames in Welland.
It happened in the King Street and Ontario Road area this morning.
Fire crews evacuated the building and those living east of Plymouth Road were advised to close all of their windows doors due to the heavy black smoke.
In a post on Twitter, Fire Chief Brian Kennedy says fire prevention staff are investigating the blaze with the NRP.
The Ontario Fire Marshals Office has been notified.
