Top Hat ceremony details still being worked out
Commuters who travel one of the Welland Canal bridges to get to work or school have another month before they have to start checking the bridge status app on their phones before they head out the door.
The Welland Canal is set to open March 24th.
Both the cities of Port Colborne and St. Catharines will host Top Hat ceremonies to salute the first vessels to pass through the 44 km waterway which connects Lake Erie and Lake Ontario while bypassing Niagara Falls.
