Police say it started while they watched a drug transaction
Police stopping roughly $83,000 worth of fentanyl from reaching Niagara streets, after watching what appeared to be drug trafficking.
It started with an investigation earlier this month in Niagara Falls, when police observed a man dealing.
The suspect was arrested Tuesday on Main Street, while police also searched a hotel room on Lundy's Lane.
Police say that search led to the arrest of a woman, also discovery of the drugs, a gun, and money.
- 833 grams suspected fentanyl (street value of $83,000)
- Glock 36 Handgun with four rounds of ammunition
- $6000 in Canadian currency
30-year old Antonio Iuliani, of no fixed address, is charged:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of Restricted Firearm Without Holding a License
- Possession of Restricted Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a License
- Possession of Loaded Regulated Firearm
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for Trafficking (Fentanyl)
34-year old Ashley Lepera, also of no fixed address, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of Restricted Firearm Without Holding a License
- Possession of Restricted Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a License
- Possession of Loaded Regulated Firearm
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for Trafficking (Fentanyl)
They had bail hearings the next day.
