
A 30-year old man is charged
Police have taken more cocaine and fentanyl off the streets of Niagara, and charging a 30-year old Thorold man in the process.
Earlier this month they started an investigation in St. Catharines and Thorold, leading to a search of a Thorold home on Keefer Road, as well as a car.
They found:
- 1,001.1 grams of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of $100,000
- 407.9 grams of suspected fentanyl and carfentanil, with an estimated street value of $45,000
- 138 pills totalling 80.6 grams of suspected oxycodone, with an estimated street value of $700
- Approximately $40,000 in Canadian currency (proceeds exam pending)
- Three high-end watches (Rolex, Cartier and Audemars Piguet) and four diamond chains, with an estimated value of more than $100,000
- Digital scales
- Packaging materials
- A loaded Palmetto 9mm handgun
- A loaded Glock 9mm handgun, with a round in the chamber
- Additional ammunition
Police say Liiban Noor is charged with:
- Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – s. 355(a) Criminal Code
- Two counts of possession of a weapon – s. 88(1) Criminal Code
- Two counts of possession of a firearm without holding a licence – s. 91(1) Criminal Code
- Two counts of possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without knowingly holding a licence – s. 92(1) Criminal Code
- Two counts of possession of prohibited ammunition obtained by crime – s. 96(1) Criminal Code
- Possession of a loaded firearm – s. 95(1) Criminal Code
- Two counts of careless storage of a firearm – s. 86(1) Criminal Code
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – s. 355(b) Criminal Code
- Two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl) – s. 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) – s. 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (oxycodone) – s. 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
He has a bail hearing today.
