Gas leak triggers explosion
Twelve people, including two children, have been injured after an explosion in Ottawa.
The blast happened around 7:00 a.m. in the suburb of Orleans.
Officials say six people were taken to hospital, and the others were released at the scene.
Two men suffered injuries considered serious, but paramedics say everyone hospitalized is in stable condition.
Fire crews say the explosion was triggered by a gas leak.
As a result, several homes that were under construction have been levelled.
The Ontario Fire Marshal's office is investigating.
