Niagara Regional Police have charged 8 people for violating COVID-19 emergency regulations.
Around 11:40 this morning, police were called to a Welland residence located near the intersection of Cozy Street and Duncan Street.
Upon arrival, officers noticed multiple people inside the home, clearly contradicting COVID-19 orders.
Four men and four women are facing charges under the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act.
They each face a fine of $880.00.
The NRPS is reminding the public to follow the province's emergency order in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
