This pestering weather mass will move on, with potential good news for New Years
There is some hope, according to Environment Canada, the Niagara region could see the sun on New Year's Day.
Meteorologist David Phillips tells us why this massive weather mass is sticking around, including lack of wind.
"Sometimes you get this, when no weather systems are moving in... very inactive. All the systems of the United States, are moving to the south, and they're not disturbing this type of air mass, which is sopping, wet moist."
He says the temperature should start to hover around the freezing mark, with some wind stirring this up by tomorrow night.
"We're going to actually see, I think by Monday, the sun, which will be a breakthrough. We're going to also see, instead of rain, some flurries... instead of this American system which has been hanging out and tormenting us for this length."
He expresses concern for winter tourist operators, such as ski slopes, and wonders how they will bounce back from this warmth.
