The Greener Homes Program will provide grants up to $5,000 to homeowners
Sources say the federal government will announce a new program today to help offset the cost of energy saving home upgrades.
The Prime Minister is expected to announce details of the $2.6 billion Canada Greener Homes Grants program that will help homeowners upgrade furnaces, windows and door and install solar panels.
Homeowners will be able to apply starting today.
Before making any upgrades, homes will undergo an energy evaluation by a certified advisor who determines which energy saving measures qualify for reimbursement.
