About 1,100 vehicles were stopped during a festive RIDE stop in St. Catharines.
Niagara Regional Police setup two checkpoints in the Garden City yesterday.
Officers were looking for those impaired by drugs and alcohol.
Nine were asked to give breath samples, and two drivers were handed three day licence suspensions.
Another 20 tickets were handed out, including several for people using their phones behind the wheel.
Police are reminding everyone to plan a safe ride home if they are going to social event this holiday season.
