Provincial government is investing $35-million over 3-years
More provincial money is coming to help rebuild the Royal George Theatre in Niagara on the Lake.
Minister of Tourism Stan Cho announced this morning $35-million over three years, to help the Shaw Festival build a new, larger and modern theatre.
The government says the construction will bring 550 new jobs, contribute $80-million in GDP, and $29-million in government revenue.
The existing theatre will close permanently later this year, with the rebuild designed to reflect the original building's design.
