Crews from Port Colborne, Pelham and Wainfleet battle blaze.
Fire crews were called after a blaze broke out on the roof of Lakeshore Catholic High School in Port Colborne this morning.
Port Colborne Fire and Emergency Services were called to the school around 8:00 a.m.
The fire spread into the school as firefighters battled flames from the roof.
There were about 20 summer school students in the east parking lot as fire crews worked to put out the blaze.
Port Colborne Fire Chief Scott Lawson tells us nobody was injured.
This month, a roofing company had been performing work on the building, and Lawson says it's believed the flames were caused by a torch or hot work activities.
Crews from Wainfleet and Pelham provided assistance, with the Pelham Fire Department providing an aerial truck and the Wainfleet Fire Department sending manpower and an engine.
Lawson says there currently isn't a damage estimate, but it's expected to be "significant" due to damage in the school's HVAC room.
