Niagara Health is reporting its first COVID-19 related death in the Region.
It’s believed the 84-year-old man was infected with the virus by a family member who had travelled to Europe.
Three new cases were reported in Niagara yesterday, bringing the total number of cases to seven.
Niagara Health President Lynn Guerriero is extending sincere condolences to the patient’s family and says we mourn this loss as a community.
She says Niagara Health has a comprehensive plan to support the safety, health and well-being of its patients and will work with government and health care partners to ensure the hospital remains as safe as possible during this pandemic.
